Richard Clive, DVM

Practice Owner

Dr. Richard Clive graduated from Texas A&M in 1993. He has been a Houston area vet since then and opened Midtown Vet Hospital in 2010. “I absolutely love my job and can’t imagine doing anything else for a living.”

Gabriel Ferrer, DVM

Dr Gabriel Ferrer is originally from the beautiful island of Puerto Rico. It was there that he developed a passion for animals at a very young age. Because there is not a veterinary school in Puerto Rico, he left his Caribbean Island to pursue his dream of becoming a Veterinarian.

Dr Ferrer graduated from Louisiana State University with an undergraduate degree in Animal Science. Then he graduated from Michigan State University with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M) degree. After finishing veterinary school, he decided to get more experience in the veterinary field and finished a one-year medical and surgical rotating internship at The Ohio State University. During his internship year he became very interested in veterinary dermatology and came to Houston to do a specialized one year Dermatology Internship at Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists. He loved Houston so much that he decided to stay in this amazing city.

When Dr. Ferrer is not at Midtown Vet Hospital, he enjoys spending time with his wife Rosa and their two rescued dogs Luna Sofia and Jimmy Changa. Also he enjoys running, playing Volleyball or just enjoying everything this great city of Houston has to offer.

Catherine Lang, DVM

Catherine Lang, DVM

Originally from Austin, Dr. Catherine Lang has loved making her home in Houston. Dr. Lang earned her veterinary medicine degree from Texas A&M University, graduating magna cum laude as a member of the Phi Zeta honors club. She previously graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in biomedical science from Texas A&M University. While pursuing her studies, Dr. Lang was involved in multiple organizations, including serving as president of Green Vets Society, vice president of Imaging and Dentistry Club, and an officer in Delta Delta Delta fraternity.

Rounding out her education at Texas A&M, Dr. Lang spent time studying veterinary medicine abroad at the University of Padua in Italy and through an externship at a hospital that specializes in orthopedic surgery in Faxe, Denmark. These experiences gave her a unique and global perspective on her vocation.

The learning doesn’t stop after veterinary school. Dr. Lang loves attending continuing education events to stay up to date with advances in veterinary medicine and far exceeds the state and AAHA required CE minimums each year.

In her spare time, Dr. Lang loves spending time with her friends, family, and her talkative siamese mix, Vincent Vega. During the fall, she loves watching Fightin’ Texas Aggie football, preferably at Kyle Field. You might see her trying new workout classes around the Montrose area, spending time outside on a sunny day, or planning her next trip abroad!

Norma Sanchez-Diaz

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Office Manager
Norma began working at Midtown Vet in Summer of 2012 and she couldn’t imagine any other job. Working with animals has been a lifelong dream that came to fruition when entering the veterinary field in 2010. A graduate of the Vet Tech Institute in Houston, Norma was a Registered Veterinary Technician and is now Office Manager at Midtown.

You can still find her in exam rooms and in the surgical suite as some of her passions include dental cleanings and treatments and anesthesia.

In her free time Norma likes to spend time with her family, husband and children. She has a family tradition of owning chihuahuas but her “first-born son” is a 4 pound chihuahua named Tiny Dog.

Certified Veterinary Assistant

Cassandra grew up in Houston and has been with us since January 2014. She wears a couple of hats here at Midtown Vet (we’ve since asked her to get rid of those!). When she’s not keeping us current on our safety policies, maintaining accreditation, or preparing our social media content, you’ll find her doing what brought her into veterinary medicine: taking care of pets!

Cassandra has her CVA and is currently finishing up her licensing studies. Outside of work, she is interested in arts and crafts, watching her favorite shows, and spending time with her cat (Norman), dog (Kat) and boyfriend.

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Rosina is originally from northern Indiana, she moved to Houston in 2011 due to her husband’s career. As a child, Rosina and her Dad would always help animals in need, from birds with broken wings to squirrels trapped in fences. Her compassion for animals inspired her to choose a career that would fulfill her love for animals. She has shared her life with a variety of pets such as dogs, cats, hamsters, and frogs.

In 2012, Rosina graduated from Pima Medical Institute as a Certified Veterinary Assistant. She worked at a low cost clinic for 4 years afterwards. In an effort to strengthen her bond with animals and expand her knowledge, she worked as a dog trainer in 2016 while she continued her education in veterinary medicine. In 2017, Rosina graduated a second time from Pima Medical Institute with an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science. She quickly took her VTNE examination and Texas State examination and is happy to now be a License Veterinary Technician (LVT).

During her off time, Rosina enjoys the companionship of her cat, “Scaredy Cat” and her dog, “Macchiato” (Maki). She also enjoys spending time with her family, playing with her pets, and doing arts and crafts. Rosina finds dog training to be very rewarding, so she continues training in her free time (feel free to contact her at

Rosina is proud to be a technician and loves that her career is focused on helping animals, and enjoys additional fulfillment outside of work helping dogs with their manners and anxieties through training.

Front Desk Manager

My name is Thomas and I am Midtown’s front desk manager. I have held this position since 2014. I am an 8 year old Boston Terrier who enjoys the finer things in life. This includes napping, playing chase, more napping, and eating carrots. You can usually find me under the front desk or running around the clinic looking for treats to eat. When I’m not hard at work, you can find me with my mom on her many adventures or at home with my sissy Jasmine.
Abbott & Costello, Eugene, Blanche, and Deserey

Abbott & Costello, Eugene, Blanche, and Deserey

Here at Midtown we have a few fish that have become part of our family. They live in the built-in aquarium. You can see them as soon as you walk up to our second floor. They love to greet people (especially when they’re hungry)!

Abbott & Costello: These two usually stick together, as they get along very well. The only thing they like to argue about is who’s going to swim first.

Eugene: You can usually find him at the top of the aquarium, waiting to be fed. He’s always the first to get food!

Blanche: Blanche loves to hang out with Eugene. She thinks she’s an angel fish too!

Deserey: She likes to hang out in weird places! You can find her on the glass, on the underside of the branch, or hiding below!
