Richard Clive, DVM
Practice Owner
Dr. Richard Clive graduated from Texas A&M in 1993. He has been a Houston area vet since then and opened Midtown Vet Hospital in 2010. “I absolutely love my job and can’t imagine doing anything else for a living.”

Gabriel Ferrer, DVM
Veterinarian
Dr Gabriel Ferrer is originally from the beautiful island of Puerto Rico. It was there that he developed a passion for animals at a very young age. Because there is not a veterinary school in Puerto Rico, he left his Caribbean Island to pursue his dream of becoming a Veterinarian.
Dr Ferrer graduated from Louisiana State University with an undergraduate degree in Animal Science. Then he graduated from Michigan State University with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M) degree. After finishing veterinary school, he decided to get more experience in the veterinary field and finished a one-year medical and surgical rotating internship at The Ohio State University. During his internship year he became very interested in veterinary dermatology and came to Houston to do a specialized one year Dermatology Internship at Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists. He loved Houston so much that he decided to stay in this amazing city.
When Dr. Ferrer is not at Midtown Vet Hospital, he enjoys spending time with his wife Rosa and their two rescued dogs Luna Sofia and Jimmy Changa. Also he enjoys running, playing Volleyball or just enjoying everything this great city of Houston has to offer.

Catherine Lang, DVM
Veterinarian
Rounding out her education at Texas A&M, Dr. Lang spent time studying veterinary medicine abroad at the University of Padua in Italy and through an externship at a hospital that specializes in orthopedic surgery in Faxe, Denmark. These experiences gave her a unique and global perspective on her vocation.
The learning doesn’t stop after veterinary school. Dr. Lang loves attending continuing education events to stay up to date with advances in veterinary medicine and far exceeds the state and AAHA required CE minimums each year.
In her spare time, Dr. Lang loves spending time with her friends, family, and her talkative siamese mix, Vincent Vega. During the fall, she loves watching Fightin’ Texas Aggie football, preferably at Kyle Field. You might see her trying new workout classes around the Montrose area, spending time outside on a sunny day, or planning her next trip abroad!

Norma Sanchez-Diaz
Licensed Veterinary Technician
Office Manager
Norma began working at Midtown Vet in Summer of 2012 and she couldn’t imagine any other job. Working with animals has been a lifelong dream that came to fruition when entering the veterinary field in 2010. A graduate of the Vet Tech Institute in Houston, Norma was a Registered Veterinary Technician and is now Office Manager at Midtown.
You can still find her in exam rooms and in the surgical suite as some of her passions include dental cleanings and treatments and anesthesia.
In her free time Norma likes to spend time with her family, husband and children. She has a family tradition of owning chihuahuas but her “first-born son” is a 4 pound chihuahua named Tiny Dog.

Cassandra
Certified Veterinary Assistant
Cassandra grew up in Houston and has been with us since January 2014. She wears a couple of hats here at Midtown Vet (we’ve since asked her to get rid of those!). When she’s not keeping us current on our safety policies, maintaining accreditation, or preparing our social media content, you’ll find her doing what brought her into veterinary medicine: taking care of pets!
Cassandra has her CVA and is currently finishing up her licensing studies. Outside of work, she is interested in arts and crafts, watching her favorite shows, and spending time with her cat (Norman), dog (Kat) and boyfriend.

Catherine Alexander
Licensed Veterinary Technician
She is a Licensed Veterinary Nurse who has been practicing since 2017. Her background is mainly in emergency and critical care and she has a passion for diagnostic imaging. She recently completed her certification in proficiency in soft tissue abdominal ultrasound and looks forward to helping our patients with this important diagnostic tool.
She has her hands full with 3 dogs and 1 cat, and she is especially excited to meet any Shih Tzu patients (they’re her favorite!)

Celene
Veterinary Technician
Celene has been a vet tech since 2010 and is a 2019 liberal arts graduate from Texas A&M. In the clinic, she loves making sure our patients are comfortable and loved while they are in our care. She also loves client education and making sure you leave our hospital feeling that all your questions have been answered.
Celene has 2 black cats of her own that she adores!
In her free time she likes going to the gym and spending time with friends and family.

Jenny
Licensed Veterinary Technician
Jenny has been writing poetry for seven years and has competed in poetry slams all over the state for the last three years. She even made it to the Women of the World Poetry Slam Qualifiers! Jenny also plays the piano and guitar. She loves to spend time with her family and friends and can’t wait to learn and grow in her career.

Erika Cruz
When she’s not comforting your pets in the clinic, she’s spending time with her friends, family, and walking her 2 dogs! She loves staying active, both physically and in her church community.

Kimberly
She has 3 dogs, 2 cats, and 1 crazy chicken! In her free time she loves to read, put puzzles together, eat chips and queso, and spend quality time with her two daughters when they are visiting from college!

Abbott & Costello, Eugene, Blanche, and Deserey
Here at Midtown we have a few fish that have become part of our family. They live in the built-in aquarium. You can see them as soon as you walk up to our second floor. They love to greet people (especially when they’re hungry)!
Abbott & Costello: These two usually stick together, as they get along very well. The only thing they like to argue about is who’s going to swim first.
Eugene: You can usually find him at the top of the aquarium, waiting to be fed. He’s always the first to get food!
Blanche: Blanche loves to hang out with Eugene. She thinks she’s an angel fish too!
Deserey: She likes to hang out in weird places! You can find her on the glass, on the underside of the branch, or hiding below!
